SUMMARY:Greater Houston Workforce Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a timely and important discussion on the impact of new policies from Congress and the Trump Administration on Greater Houston’s workforce. The discussion will cover what business and higher-education leaders can do to protect their workers and students\, as well as how they can support sensible legislative solutions for Houston DACAand TPS recipient workers. Over 572\,000 long-term undocumented workers live in our region; 29% of Houston construction workers and 12% of hospitality workers are undocumented. In addition\, over 46\,000 DACA-eligible Dreamers and 27\,000 TPS recipients are working\, studying\, and contributing to our region. Protecting these individuals from deportation and allowing them to work is critical to maintaining our region’s competitiveness and fostering economic growth.
