What are the Luna Awards?
The Luna Awards celebrate the achievements of women in the architecture, construction and engineering industry. The awards are preceded by seminars and a business expo which further enhance opportunities for women in the A/E/C industry. This is the premier event for RHCA and serves as one of its major fundraisers benefiting its scholarship program.

How many awards will be presented?
There will be a total of Seven Awards presented.
Six (6) Luna Awards will be presented to women in the construction industry in the following areas:
Rising Star Firm of the Year: The Luna Rising Star Firm of the Year Award recognizes a company that has taken great risks to break new ground, demonstrated innovation and trendsetting, and exhibited the potential for growth into an established enterprise.
Established Service Firm of the Year: The Luna Established Service Firm of the Year Award recognizes a well established, non-construction woman-owned company that provides exemplary services to companies in construction, architecture or engineering in the North Texas area. Examples: Accounting, Consulting; Janitorial, Legal, Printing, Signs, Marketing, HR/Labor Services, etc.
Established Construction Firm of the Year: The Luna Established Construction Firm of the Year Award recognizes a well established, woman-owned construction company that has performed exemplary in the industry and does business in the North Texas area. This award is given to a woman-owned company in construction, architecture or engineering.
Outstanding Administrative Professional of the Year: The Luna Outstanding Administrative Professional of the Year Award recognizes a professional woman who works for a company in construction, architecture or engineering doing business in the North Texas area. This individual provides support in the following areas; Office Manager; Accountant/Bookkeeper; Executive Assistant; Business Development/Marketing; Technical Support (IT), etc. This individual provides behind the scenes support to the success of the company and to the overall team effort.
Outstanding Professional of the Year: The Luna Outstanding Professional of the Year Award recognizes an exemplary professional “woman” in construction, architecture or engineering doing business in the North Texas area. This individual plays a pivotal role as a Superintendent, Field Employee, Engineer, Architect, Project Manager, Scheduler, Estimator or Maintenance Supervisor ensuring timely delivery of a successful project.
Outstanding Executive of the Year: The Luna Outstanding Executive of the Year Award recognizes a Woman Senior Executive in construction, architecture or engineering working in the North Texas area.
And One (1) Luna Award will be presented to an individual or company serving as an advocate for the inclusion of women in the construction industry.
Business Advocate of the Year: The Luna Business Advocate of the Year Award recognizes an individual or company advocating for women-owned businesses in construction, architecture, or engineering doing business in the North Texas area.
Do you have to be a member of the RHCA, Greater Dallas-Fort Worth WTS Chapter, Dallas Women’s Foundation or NAWIC-Dallas Chapter?
No, nominations are open to all women in the Construction, Architecture and Engineering industry
When is the nomination deadline?
Nominations are due September 27, 2013 by 3:00 p.m.
When are the nominee’s worksheet due?
2013 Luna official nomination worksheets are due Friday, October 11, 2013 by 3:00 p.m.
When will the Luna Awards and RHCA Women’s Business Conference be held?
The event will be held on October 31, 2013

Do I have to attend the Expo and Luncheon or can I purchase a ticket for one of the events?
We believe there is great benefit in attending both events; however, we recognize that in some cases this may not be feasible for an attendee. The following options are available:
• Conference/Expo Only – $0 (7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) RSVP required
• Business Expo Only – $500: Provides one six foot showcase table and two chairs to exhibit during the Business Expo
• Individual Ticket – $100: Individual attendance to Business Conference, Expo and one Awards Luncheon ticket
Can men attend the conference?
Yes, the conference is open to men and women.
