This workshop will cover how to do business with Federal, State and Local governments (including DART, DFW Airport, etc.)
Panelists will also share information regarding DOT’s Short Term Lending Program and the Bonding Education Program as well
as increasing your competitiveness for transportation-related contracts by taking advantage of these DOT programs. Information
will also be presented about contracting opportunities for women-owned small businesses (WOSBs and EDWOSB) and the
different certifications available to ensure you have the right certification whether Federal, State or Local to support
their business marketing objectives.

10:00 a.m. Session 2: Is Green Your Color? – A Woman’s Guide to Sustainability and Social Responsibility
(This is a two part seminar)
Part I – The Women’s Bureau has recently released “Why Green Is Your Color: A Woman’s Guide to a Sustainable Career”
to encourage women to consider a career in developing a clean energy economy. This presentation will cover the definition of
a green job, the benefits of a green career, the range of in-demand and emerging green jobs, education and training
opportunities, green entrepreneurship, overcoming challenges and planning a green career. Part II – Conference attendees
will be provided a definition of sustainability and social responsibility and its principles, direction to supply professionals on
how their companies and suppliers can develop and integrate sustainability and social responsibility practices and strategies
into the business and supply chain. Policies and procedures to incorporate monitoring, verification and publication of results
to ensure management of risk, protection of the environment and business continuity.

11:00 a.m. Session 3: Act Like a Lady Think Like a Entrepreneur – Women in Construction/Business Panel
This Panel consists of women-owned companies with diverse backgrounds and business in various industries – construction,
medical, landscaping, etc. Panel will discuss successes, challenges facing women in construction, architectural, engineering
and other areas of business, how they’ve grown their companies and become successful Entrepreneurs continuing to rise
above the glass ceiling and moving to the next level in their respective fields.
